Thinking Day is when we as Girl Scouts are suppose to think about girls in other countries.  We try to learn about the other country and then present what we have learned to all the troops here in town.  The way we do this is to present at a table, do a skit or make a food about the country.

As a leader it is important that you let the girls come up with some of what they want to do and keep them realistic as to what they can do with some help from you.

What you  need to do is:

  • Contact your partner troop leader if you are unsure what all of this is about!
  • Pick a country (send your first 3 choices)
  • Pick a way to present (table, skit and/or food)
  • NOTIFY Sue Pearson spearson5@comcast.net ASAP of what you want to do :
  • Send an email with your troop number in the subject line
  • Give your 3 choices for a country (in order of preference)
  • Indicate what you will be doing (food and/or skit)
  • If you are not presenting you can be a tourist or an escort – good info, too.
  • Give your grade and the number of girls attending so Sue can order patches
  • Pick a flag (buy, make one or borrow one)
  • Make stickers or a stamp that represents your country

Remember each country must have:

  1. FLAG of your country to carry (it can be any size or material - cloth, poster board, etc.).        Please plan to have one of your girls carry your flag up onto the stage for the flag ceremony.
  2. STAMP or STICKERS for your country to be used for passports.

Are you in need of a flag?

  • www.unflags.com sells large nylon flags and country stickers.
  • Do you have a flag from a previous year that you would like to donate for other troops to use for Thinking Day?
